HP Victus 15 Core i5-12H/2050/16/1000 15,6"

I have issues with audio. Have tried different things to maybe fixing issues. Have downloaded and installed driver. Besides that nothing workes.

I have a fine brand on computer B&O, but the sound is nothing close.

The issue is sound/music seems to "fade", not balanced and really low (up and down). To hear music or sound I need to turn up volume. Sounds like speaker also is broken, blowned.

Second issue is that my warranty is soon finished. But I bought my pc 11.02.25.

@JCBN, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Sounds like you're experiencing volume fluctuations, low sound, and possibly distortion on your HP Victus 15 (Intel Core i5-12th Gen, RTX 2050) laptop, even after trying to reinstall drivers. Here are a few tailored steps to troubleshoot and hopefully fix the issue:

Check the Audio Driver (Don't Just Reinstall—Use Specific Version)

HP laptops often work best with their custom Realtek + Bang & Olufsen drivers.

➤ Try this:

  1. Go to HP Support for Victus 15.
  2. Enter your full model name (e.g., "Victus 15-fa0xxx") and OS version.
  3. Download and install the Realtek High Definition Audio driver listed under "Driver-Audio", not the one from Realtek’s own site or Windows Update.
  4. Reboot after installation.

If it still doesn't help, try rolling back to the previous driver:

  • Right-click Start > Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Right-click Realtek Audio > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver.

Disable Audio Enhancements

HP laptops with B&O audio sometimes use Windows enhancements that cause issues.

➤ Disable Enhancements:

  1. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar > Sounds.
  2. Go to the Playback tab > Right-click your speaker > Properties.
  3. Under the Enhancements tab, check "Disable all sound effects" (or uncheck enhancements if it's reversed).
  4. Under the Advanced tab, set to 24-bit, 48000 Hz (Studio Quality).
  5. Apply and test sound again.

Check B&O Audio Control App

Some Victus models come with Bang & Olufsen Audio Control or HP Audio Control. If it’s installed:

  • Search for “Bang & Olufsen” in Start.
  • Open it, and:
    • Set the equalizer to default or flat.
    • Disable any spatial sound or auto-volume options.

Check for Windows Optional Updates

Sometimes, audio firmware updates are hidden in Windows Updates.

  • Go to: Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates.
  • Check for audio driver or firmware updates, install them, and restart.

Test with Headphones or External Speakers

  • Does the issue happen through headphones too?
    • If yes → Software or driver problem.
    • If no → Internal speakers may be damaged or blown (hardware).

HP UEFI Audio Component Test

If you're suspicious of speaker damage:

  1. Restart your PC.
  2. Press Esc, then F2 to enter HP Diagnostics (UEFI).
  3. Choose Component Tests > Audio Test.
  4. Run the speaker check to see if hardware is fine.
