HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0101ax
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hii

I downloaded the correct bios firmware update from hp support for my hp pavilion gaming laptop 15 ec-0101ax. But the downloaded file board number don't matches with my laptop board number.

The downloaded bios file has board id/number as 86D4 but in my laptop the board number is 86D5.

Actually why I opted mannual update because when my laptop was working a update of bios firmware came and while updating all of a sudden it crashed. Then I went to hp support YouTube channel i saw video for that. But unfortunately it didn't work because of different board id.

Please provide me a urgent solution because I have my research works on that laptop and the deadline for presentation is on head.

Hoping a urgent solution for that.

@15-ec0101ax_,

If your laptop still has a factory-installed hard drive with HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI on, it may have the current bios .bin file stored on it. And if your Hardware Diag. UEFI has Firmware Management, you can view the ID number of the stored bin file from there. If it matches with 86D4, your update bios file is correct to use, even though it doesn't match with the system board ID number (from my experience, bin file ID number can be different from the system board ID).

Turn on the laptop and tap the F2 key rapidly to launch the Hardware Diag. UEFI and see if you have Firmware Management on it.
