Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598U8AV)

Hi,

I’m using a Victus by HP Laptop 15-fb0024ni (872Y1EA) with a Ryzen 5 5600H, RTX 3050, 16GB RAM, running Windows 11 Home.

When I launch Call of Duty through the Xbox app, I get an error from Ricochet anti-cheat:

“Please ensure you have enabled TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot on your system and try again.”

The strange thing is:

  • TPM is enabled and shows as Ready for use (version 3.93.0.5).

  • BIOS is set to UEFI.

  • Secure Boot is On.

  • I already updated my BIOS to the latest one available on HP’s website.

So everything looks correct, but the game still refuses to start. From what I’ve read, it might be that my TPM firmware (3.93.0.5) isn’t passing Ricochet’s check.

My questions:

  1. Is 3.93.0.5 the latest TPM firmware for this laptop?

  2. Will there be a BIOS update that includes a newer TPM version?

  3. Is there any workaround in the meantime?

Thanks a lot for the help — I just want to get the game running without errors.

Hi @B7vB,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Victus 15-fb0024ni is showing TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot as enabled, but Ricochet anti-cheat still prevents Call of Duty from launching. This could be related to the current TPM firmware version (3.93.0.5). Let’s go through a step to check and possibly update the TPM firmware.

Run HP Image Diagnostics

Running HP Image Diagnostics can help verify your hardware, including TPM, and sometimes trigger firmware updates.

1. Temporarily Disable Antivirus

Disable any antivirus or security software before starting, as it may block the process.

2. Download HP Image Diagnostics

Go to: HP Image Diagnostics

Download ImageDiags version 4.x or 5.x depending on your system.

3. Extract and Run

Extract the downloaded file.

Run the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Process Duration

The diagnostics process usually takes 30–40 minutes.

Ensure your laptop is plugged into AC power and do not interrupt the process.

5. After Completion

Restart your laptop.

Check TPM version in tpm.msc to see if it has been updated.

Try launching the game again.

I hope this helps.

Good day! Oki so I tried the whole ImageDiags and nope, nothing happened, still the 3.93.0.5 version.

Hi @Kuroi_Kenshi,

Thanks again for your help! I followed all the steps you suggested with HP Image Diagnostics, but unfortunately the issue is still there.

I ran the tool several times (about five in total) while keeping an eye on Windows Security to make sure the antivirus didn’t re-enable itself during the process. It did turn itself back on once or twice while ImageDiags was running, and I’m not sure if the tool triggered that or if Windows did it automatically.

I also tried running ImageDiags through Command Prompt (as Administrator) by navigating to the file directory using:

cd [file location]
ImageDiags noui yesagree

This command seemed to work for earlier versions from what I’ve seen, but even after trying that, nothing changed — the TPM version stayed the same (3.93.0.5), and Call of Duty still shows the same message about TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

Is there anything else I can try, or could this possibly be an issue on the game’s end?

Thanks again for your time and guidance!
