Hi, last week I bought HP Victus 15 and i've had 3 BSODs so far.

I've realised that the laptop of mine gave BSODs while I was using Omen Gaming Hub's quiet mode.

When I switched Gaming Hub's quiet mode to default i stopped having BSODs at least for now.

My specs are:

RTX 4060 75W GPU

AMD Ryzen 5 8645hs CPU

16 GB DDR5 Ram 5600mhz

Can the BSODs really be caused due to the Omen Hub's quiet mode? If so, what is your alternative for me to use the quiet mode on my laptop?

Kindly help me find what the culprit is. Thank you in advance

Hi @victususer23118,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details. Based on your description, the BSODs you experienced while using OMEN Gaming Hub’s Quiet Mode can indeed be related to the power and thermal adjustments that Quiet Mode applies.

Why Quiet Mode May Cause BSOD

Quiet Mode reduces fan speeds and limits CPU/GPU performance to minimize noise. On some systems, these changes can:

  • Lower voltage or power limits too aggressively.
  • Interfere with AMD and NVIDIA dynamic power management.
  • Causes instability under load, resulting in Blue Screen errors.

Recommended Actions

  1. Switch to Default or Balanced Mode
Continue using the default performance profile for stability.

  2. Update OMEN Gaming Hub and System Firmware
  3. Create a Custom Profile Instead of Quiet Mode
    • In OMEN Gaming Hub, select Performance Control → Custom Mode.
    • Adjust fan speed slightly lower for quieter operation, but keep CPU/GPU power limits close to default.

  4. Check Windows Power Settings
    • Use the Balanced or HP Recommended power plan in Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
