OMEN MAX 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-ak0000 (A4UX7AV)

Hey,

Im using my Omen max 16 for weeks and I had a lot of issues with high CPU usage games. I have a Ryzen 9 AI HX 375 with 32go DDR5 paired with an RTX5080 laptop. But there are some games my pc have hard time running  : Warhammer 40K Darktide, REPO, Indiana jones, DeepRock Galactic... And its always an issue of high pc latency or low 1% fps. I monitored my threads with HWinfo and mainly the 2nd and the 3rd core are really used, going up to 207% of usage while all the other core sleep at 50% usage. In Darktide, even in the lowest quality, I cant manage to have under 45ms of pc latency. In REPO, I have 240fps with an 60 average 1% fps dropping to 37fps lowest i've seen (which is crazy).

How can I manage to have a better threads usage so my CPU wont constantly bottleneck my GPU?

thx

Did you check if temps are normal, not near 90°C?

Try these

  1. Open the NVIDIA App → go to the Graphics tab → select Global → set Power management mode to “Prefer maximum performance” and set Shader cache size to “Unlimited”. Click on apply in last if available.
  2. Open services windows and disable "NVIDIA FrameView SDK Service". Set startup type to disabled.
  3. Open device manager, Expand Sound, video and game controllers and disable NVIDIA High Definition Audio and NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device
  4. Restart and check performance. These are the known cause.

Hey,

I do not have any temperature limiting, my GPU never reached 80°c since I got it. And most of the time when those porblems appears, I still have 10 to 20% of GPU unused.

I tried the 3 other tips you gave me, hope it gonna help.

thanks for your answer

Try and test those settings I provided and report back with results. I check further if issue remains
