I bought HP Omen 16 Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5060 a week back and the battery doesn't last an hour. I calibrated the battery, the drivers are all updated, the laptop is in ECO mode, Hybrid.

Hi  @Ad039

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern about the battery draining despite being in ECO mode.

Below are a few quick checks  to narrow down the issue:

  • Does the drain happen even when idle, or only during gaming/heavy load?

  • Are you using the original HP adapter, and does the battery charge fully to 100%?

  • BIOS settings: Have you updated BIOS/firmware recently, or noticed any warnings/errors during startup?

Here are fewsteps you can try:

  • Run HP Support Assistant: Perform a battery health check to see if it flags abnormal wear.

  • Update graphics and BIOS to the latest version: Hybrid mode relies on GPU switching, so outdated drivers can cause excessive power use.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
