Hi @Bran199

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating this must feel, especially after you’ve already gone through the effort of manually calibrating and running a battery test.

Since the battery is new, the system may still be learning its full charge and discharge range. Let’s go through a careful set of steps to help the battery and the software sync properly:

  1. Shut down the notebook completely and connect the AC adapter.
  2. Allow the battery to charge uninterrupted until it reaches 100%. Leave it connected for an additional 2 hours after it shows full.
  3. Disconnect the AC adapter and power on the notebook. Use it normally until the battery drains down to about 5–7%. Save your work and let the notebook shut down on its own.
  4. Connect the AC adapter again and charge the battery back to 100% without interruption.
  5. Restart the notebook and open the HP Support Assistant. Run the battery test once more to see if the calibration message clears.

It’s also helpful to ensure the BIOS and system drivers are current, as updates can improve how the battery communicates with the system. You can check for updates here:

For detailed battery testing steps, you can refer to:

You’ve already done well by attempting calibration and running diagnostics. With a full charge–discharge cycle and a fresh test, the battery status should align more smoothly with what the HP Support Assistant reports.
