performance settings are overridden by system default settings while on battery or low-wattage ac adapter. your system performance will revert to normal warning once a compatible ac adapter is connected. This is the warning from omen gaming hub when my laptop is not connected to the charging adaptor. I didnt have this two days ago and now i can use ony 2 hours my laptop without the charging adaptor.

Hi @tobi4s,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I can imagine how inconvenient it must be to see your laptop's performance being limited and its battery life reduced unexpectedly, especially since this issue didn’t occur earlier. Let’s identify the root cause and find a solution.
- Did you recently update the OMEN Gaming Hub, BIOS, or any system drivers?
- Are you using the original HP charger that came with your laptop, or is it a different model?
- Have you noticed any changes in the laptop's battery health or performance while it’s on battery?
Check Power Plan Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
- Select High Performance or Balanced and ensure no customizations limit performance when on battery.
Update OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Open the Microsoft Store and check for updates for the OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Ensure you’re running the latest version, as an outdated version could misinterpret power configurations.
Verify AC Adapter Compatibility:
- Confirm you’re using the original HP charger. Third-party or low-wattage adapters may trigger this warning.
- If the original adapter is being used, inspect it for damage or try another compatible HP adapter to test.
Reset BIOS Defaults:
- Restart the laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS.
- Navigate to the option to Load Setup Defaults or similar. Save changes and exit.
- This ensures there aren’t overridden settings affecting performance on battery.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 to access the diagnostics menu.
- Run the Battery Test and Power Adapter Test to check for hardware-related issues.
- Note any error codes and take appropriate action based on the results.
If the issue persists, it might be related to a recent system update or a change in your laptop's Battery Health Management settings.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
