Hey guys, Battery stopped charging when I do battery check it says your battery experienced permanent failure and need to be replaced. It is plugged in but not working. Any idea what to do? is it update? or why did it stop working after one year immediately. This happened to sound too after sound update the sound stopped working. I am not sure if my laptop stopped working or it is the updates? any solution guys??

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I recommend you update the BIOS and the chipset driver from the below link and check whether the battery is getting charged.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If you continue facing the issue, then the battery needs to be replaced and I suggest you contact support to check the available service options for your computer.
Here is how you can get in touch with tech support.
1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
For the sound issue, I recommend you uninstall the audio driver from device manager and then restart the computer and check if it helps.
Here is how it is done.
- Click the Windows icon in your Taskbar, type device manager in the Start Search box, and then press Enter
- Double-click on Sound, video, and game controllers
- Locate and double-click the driver that is causing the error
- Click the Driver tab
- Click Uninstall
