After updating to windows 10, lost all the sound quality in my HP envy. Reinstalled the drivers and then tried these settings. The result was an amazing deep sound, thanks for your research and effort in sharing it with everyone.

if you are using headphones.Enable playback multi-streaming and select headphones. it worked for me.
