Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently bought the Hp omen 15t (dc000ct0- 5TR05AV). Please beware before buying from HP as HP is very vague about The 4 zoned RGB keyboard.

If you select the Dragon Red Legend (which should only change the outlines and everything), you'll get a 2 zoned red keyboard with no lighting option in the Omen Command Center.

Selecting the White Legend gives the 4 zoned RGB keyboard

I bought the Dragon Red Legend not knowing that it will inadvertently will exclude the 4 zoned RGB.

HP doesn't provide adequate information in this case.

Highly dissappointed in HP. (even in the configuration page, in the selection of the keyboard they don't specify which keyboard offers what)

Anywho, I hope this helps someone.

Cheers

Hi, I had the same exact problem. Can the keyboard/palm rest be changed out and the software downloaded if you wanted to do that?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • What is the operating system?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • What is the exact issue with the keyboard?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Back when I first ordered my 17-an100, they had the option for a 4-zone RGB keyboard, and even the parts list for this exact model lists it and still does... Never got it, and when I looked later, they took that option away in the Configure to Order screen, however it's still a replacement part option and is listed on the parts site, and in the parts booklet...

I very much dislike the red (with 4 white buttons.... yes only 4 buttons are white. the least they could've done is allow you to change the white keys, red to match but no... OCD has be triggered haha), so I just disable the back-light completely... Sure I can't see what I type at night but the "Dragon Red Legend" is giving me a legendary dragon sized headache (from eyestrain or something).
