Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have thermal problem while gaming and HP call center suggest me to update bios from F.07 to F.07 "Rev.A". So I downloaded from HP website and applied it. Then, I press Fn+ESC to check the bios, it was still F.07 and also in HP support assistance. What should I do for applying the newer one? or it may be already Rev.A but I don't know.

Thanks for any help 😄

"IF" the paste was poorly applied, then yes repasting will help.

If you do repaste, I would use something like Kryonaut thermal grease, for example.

I wouldnt suggest Liquid Metal if you dont know what you're doing.

If you are still under warranty, know that you could void it if any damage was caused by opening the case or any personal work done.

Hello @SilentWinter

IF the bios shows F.07, then you have Rev A.

It wont actually show Rev A in the title.

However, the date of version was still different. F.07 was on 10/30/2018 (my current version) but the Rev.A was 11/12/2018. Is it correct? if yes and already Rev.A, how to reduce thermal issue on the Omen because when I played game CPU temperature almost 100 C (TDP 42W). Now I used to undervolting -150mV and TDP to 30W, the thermal was reduce to 85-90 C. Is it good to do both undervolting and reducing TDP to reduce temperature?

HP Recommended

Again as I said, if you installed rev a, it will only show up as F.07 in the info menu.

Undervolting is what several users here on the forum have had to revert to, to lower the temps in an Omen laptop.

I dont know of any instance where it caused damage.

Thank for suggestion. I'm going to undervolt for -150 mV then to solve this problem. One more question, does changing thernal paste on CPU help this probelm?
