Hi @mertcemre

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your laptop is showing a diagnostic error indicated by the Caps Lock blinking pattern (5 long blinks followed by 4 short blinks). This pattern is a BIOS error code, which can help you identify what might be wrong.

Caps Lock Blink Code Meaning:

The 5 long blinks and 4 short blinks pattern typically indicates a problem related to your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) or graphics card. This issue can be caused by several things, including:

  • Hardware failure related to the graphics card or integrated GPU.
  • A corrupted BIOS or a failed BIOS update.
  • Other motherboard-related issues.

Steps to Troubleshoot:

Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, a simple reset can fix temporary issues.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the power cord and remove the battery (if possible).
  • Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain any remaining power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power cord, then try turning the laptop on again.

Check the Screen: Since you mentioned the screen is black, it's worth checking if the issue is related to the display itself:

  • Try connecting your laptop to an external monitor or TV to see if you get a display.
  • If you see an image on the external screen, this could indicate a problem with your laptop's built-in display (e.g., a faulty screen or connection).

Perform BIOS Recovery: If the issue is related to a corrupted BIOS, you can try recovering the BIOS:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press and hold the Windows key and the B key on the keyboard.
  • While holding Windows + B, press and **hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Keep holding the keys until you hear a series of beeps or the HP logo appears on the screen, signaling that the BIOS recovery process has started.

Check for Hardware Issues: If you still get the same blinking pattern, there might be an issue with the graphics card or motherboard. At this point, it's best to:

Reset BIOS Settings (if you have access to BIOS): If you can access the BIOS (through a recovery mode, for example), you can try resetting the BIOS to default settings:

  • Restart the laptop and press the F10 or Esc key to access the BIOS.
  • Once in the BIOS, look for the option to restore defaults (usually under the "Exit" or "Save & Exit" tab).
  • Save the settings and exit.

I hope this helps.
