Black screen when I turn on the computer

HP Recommended
Omen 15-ce0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Yesterday the computer was working just fine but when I try turning it on today, it just shows a black screen. I have tried every solution I could find but the screen remains black. Its working, I can go into BIOS setup when starting up the computer but the screen remains black at startup.

So... I'm learning to become an IT specialist and I brought my computer with me to one of the classes and with the help of my teacher and a few classmates I was able to come to the conclusion that the HDD was broken cause as soon as I took it out, everything went ok cause the OS is on the SSD. So now Im trying to restore my corrupt files and if that wont work, I'll have to buy a new storage device.

TLDR; if your Omen laptop stops working properly and the screen remains black, it's most likely that your HDD files are corrupt.

@Radcle
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

Microsoft System restore: System Restore returns your computer to the files and settings from the restore point. Your personal files and documents are not affected. Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03327545 to perform Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10, 😎

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
