hi 

I bought an omen device a while ago and it was normal until I updated the operating system
Sometimes when I put the device to sleep mode and then turn it on later, the whole device works, but the screen remains black and does not work.
When this happens to me, I restart the entire device and then it will operate normally
I want a solution to the black screen issue. Please, I do not like to restart the device from scratch every time this happens.🙄💔

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating ) 

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

And, also let's try and disable the hybrid sleep setting even this might cause an issue with the sleep mode. Change the advanced power settings to disable hybrid sleep.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Control panel.

  2. In the Control Panel search field, type power options, and then select Power Options from the list.

  3. Click Change plan settings for the power plan that is selected.

  4. Click Change advanced power settings.

  5. Expand Sleep, and then expand Allow hybrid sleep.

  6. Select Off from the On battery drop-down menu, and then select Off from the Plugged in drop-down menu.

  7. Click OK.
