Hi @Sanjay132,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that screen stutter and blanking behaviour point to a crashed Windows graphical process or a corrupted display driver. Fix it instantly by resetting your graphics driver. When the screen goes blank, press Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B simultaneously. The screen will flicker or beep and reset.

If the screen is still black, try these steps in order:

1. Restart Windows Explorer:

If you see a black screen but can still move your mouse, a frozen Windows Explorer might be the culprit:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.

  2. If it opens, look for Windows Explorer in the processes list. Right-click it and select Restart.

  3. If it’s not there, click File (top left) and select Run new task.

  4. Type explorer.exe and hit Enter.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

If the shortcut keys do not work, a power cycle can clear the memory and fix display bugs without deleting personal data:

  1. Turn off the laptop by holding the power button for 15 seconds.

  2. Unplug the power charger and disconnect all external devices (like USB drives or monitors).

  3. Press and hold the power button again for about 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.

  4. Reconnect just the charger and turn the laptop back on.

3. Update or Reinstall Your Graphics Driver:

Corrupted drivers often cause partial screen blackouts or visual artefacts.

  1. Right-click the Start menu and select Device Manager.

  2. Expand the Display adapters section.

  3. Right-click your graphics card (usually Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) and select Update driver.

  4. If that fails, right-click and select Uninstall device, then restart your computer so Windows can automatically reinstall a clean driver.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
