Blank screen at startup, but starts after turn off/turn on
02-17-2021 03:02 PM

Hello,
I've a Pavilon Gaming 15-dk0061nl from last July.
Starting a few months ago, when I push the startup button, the screen is blank. I can hear fan noise or ethernet blinking but I can't see even HP logo.
If I press power button to shutdown and press it again after few seconds, PC starts correctly. Sometimes I have to do stop/start 3 times.
If I restart PC from windows it starts correctly. I only have problems when I start PC after more than 1 hour.
I already updated PC bios with no change.
Suggestions?
Thanks

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers & Firmware for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thanks for your answer.
I've already updated all driver with HP Support Assistant. I've just checked now and I've updated wireless driver.
Unfortunately the problem is before widows starts, also before HP logo.
I'll tell you tomorrow if something changed, but I don't think that the issue was related to wireless driver.

Please run a System test to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Shut down the Notebook completely
- Turn it back on, then tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup menu screen is displayed.
- Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
- Click System Tests, then click Extensive Test.
If all the Tests pass please perform a Reset https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289
