My drivers have randomly been disappearing/not working for awhile now but the most recent is the most frustrating. Out of no where, my Bluetooth driver disappeared. Bluetooth isn't listed ANYWHERE in my device manager and there is no toggle in settings. I looked up my specific device and went to drivers and got more frustrated when I discovered there wasn't a single driver listed for me to use. Please help me fix this mess.

Hi @thatonegirl1212,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this must be. If Bluetooth has completely disappeared from Device Manager and there is no Bluetooth toggle available in Windows Settings, it could be related to the BIOS, chipset, wireless driver, or Windows no longer detecting the Bluetooth hardware.

To help narrow this down, could you please let us know:

  • What is the exact HP computer model or product number?
  • Which version of Windows are you using (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
  • Did the issue start after a Windows update, BIOS update, or any other recent changes?
  • In Device Manager, do you see any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or any Unknown devices?
  • If you select View > Show hidden devices, does Bluetooth appear?

In the meantime, I would suggest updating the core system drivers for your PC.

  1. Visit the Official HP® Support website for your specific computer model.
  2. Download and install the latest versions of the following drivers, if available:
    • BIOS
    • Chipset
    • Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) driver (this package often includes the Bluetooth driver for supported wireless adapters)
  3. Restart the computer after installing the updates.

I also recommend downloading and installing HP Support Assistant | HP® Support on your PC. It can automatically detect your system and install the latest HP-recommended drivers, BIOS updates, and firmware that may help restore Bluetooth functionality.

Once you've completed these steps, let us know:

  • Whether Bluetooth reappears in Device Manager.
  • If HP Support Assistant finds and installs any updates.
  • The exact model of your HP computer.

With those details, we'll be able to determine the next appropriate steps and continue assisting you.

I'm an HP Employee.
