Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T56AV)

My bluetooth randomly stop giving audio. During this part, the bluetooth icon in the bottom right panel shows that it is connected to my ear phones. But, since it doesn't give any audio, I disconnect my ear phones to notice that the bluetooth icon is in light grey color, not letting me enable it/disable it. After a while, the bluetooth turns off. On enabling it again, the Bluetooth becomes dark grey, again, not letting me enable it. Then after a while, the bluetooth icon disappears from the panel.

On checking on device manager, the bluetooth section is found missing. When I see from "show hidden devices", bluetooth section is seen with my bluetooth driver with a yellow triangle symbol.

I downloaded the bluetooth driver from HP, and the installation never happens, when the green bar starts moving from left to right, the dialogue box, abruptly stops.

On trying to fix with ChatGPT, I tried to update my BIOS. But after installation and restarting, the screen is black. The fans work slowly, the laptop heats up a little, the power button is lit, CAPSLOCK does not respond and it stays at the black screen. I left it over night, it didn't change.

Please help me resolve these issues.

Hi @todofornow

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the detailed information. We understand the concern. Based on what you've described, there appear to be two related symptoms on your HP Victus 16-s0000: the Bluetooth adapter intermittently disappears from Windows, and the BIOS update process has left the notebook unable to complete startup, showing a black screen with the power LED on and no Caps Lock response.

Since the notebook is currently not reaching Windows, the priority is to recover the BIOS first. Once the system starts normally again, we can address the Bluetooth behavior.

Please try the following HP BIOS recovery procedure:

  1. Disconnect all external devices, including USB devices, external displays, and headphones.
  2. Turn off the notebook completely.
  3. Connect the HP power adapter.
  4. Press and hold the Windows key + B key simultaneously.
  5. While continuing to hold Windows + B, press and hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
  6. Release the Power button, but continue holding Windows + B for approximately 20 to 30 seconds.
  7. Watch for any signs of recovery:
    • HP BIOS Recovery screen
    • BIOS update screen
    • Beeping sounds
    • Increased fan activity
  8. If the BIOS Recovery screen appears, allow the process to complete without interruption.

If Windows + B does not start recovery, repeat the same process using Windows + V instead of Windows + B.

If the notebook remains on a black screen:

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for approximately 15 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the adapter.
  4. Attempt the BIOS recovery procedure again.

Once the system is able to boot into Windows, I recommend checking the following for the Bluetooth issue:

  • Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and perform the Wireless Module Test.
  • Install the latest BIOS directly from HP if the current recovery reports success but the BIOS version is incomplete.
  • Install the AMD chipset driver before reinstalling the Bluetooth driver.
  • In Device Manager, verify whether the Bluetooth adapter reappears under Bluetooth or Network Adapters without a warning symbol.
  • Check Windows Update for optional driver updates related to Bluetooth and wireless devices.

Once we know the response from the BIOS recovery attempt, we can guide the next supported step.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
