Hi @Clueless123098,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the notification for Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock is causing some unwanted interruptions during your gaming. To turn off the notification on your HP laptop, you can try the following steps.

Disable the On-Screen Display (OSD) Notifications via HP Hotkey Support

The Caps/Num/Scroll lock notifications are typically managed by the HP Hotkey Support software. You might be able to disable the notifications directly within this utility.

  • Step 1: Open the HP Hotkey Support application (you can search for it in the Start menu).
  • Step 2: Look for an option related to On-Screen Display (OSD) or notifications.
  • Step 3: Disable any setting that mentions displaying notifications for Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock.

Disable Through Windows Settings

If the first option doesn't help, you can also try adjusting some Windows settings:

  • Step 1: Press Windows Key + I to open Settings.
  • Step 2: Go to Ease of Access.
  • Step 3: Scroll down and select Keyboard.
  • Step 4: Under the Filter Keys section, make sure that Turn on Toggle Keys is off (this controls the sound and visual feedback for Caps Lock, Num Lock, etc.).

Disable the "HP Quick Launch Buttons" or Other HP Software

Another way to turn off these notifications is by disabling other HP-related utilities that manage the hotkeys:

  • Step 1: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
  • Step 2: Go to the Startup tab.
  • Step 3: Disable any HP Quick Launch Buttons or similar software that might manage the notifications.
  • Step 4: Restart your computer to see if the notification stops.

Uninstall or Disable HP System Event Utility (if installed)

If you're still seeing notifications despite ending the task for the HP System Event Utility, you may need to fully uninstall it from Control Panel or Settings.

  • Step 1: Open Control Panel or Settings.
  • Step 2: Go to Programs and Features or Apps.
  • Step 3: Look for HP System Event Utility and uninstall it.
  • Step 4: Restart your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
