OMEN 16-b0146TX
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey all, my HP OMEN 16-b0146TX has a problem with the CPU fan bearing that is causing the fan to make a lot of noise under minimal load. Is anyone able to guide me in the right direction on where I should buy a new replacement fan?

@Raiden_,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Yes, indeed: I will guide you in the right direction -that is, what I would do if I were in your shoes, so to speak.

Your OMEN by HP Laptop 16-b0146TX (50R87PA), as per: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07596073.pdf, requires these two laptop cooling fans: M57161-001 and M57160-001:

[EDIT:] Please verify that I am 'quoting', so to speak, from the correct manual -even though it references the OMEN by HP 16-b0xxx laptops:

Unfortunately, it appears that these fans are not too common/available for purchase Down-Under.

So, I would suggest purchasing a fan set -when you replace one fan, 'good PC practice' recommends that you replace both of them, through AliExpress, such as this purchase example: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251832874816868.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.15.f0769b99TiQtFg&al....

Btw, my experience with AliExpress over the last 10 or so years has been outstanding.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

It specs

              https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c08044031

and parts list

            https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=50R87PA

which does not list CPU fan, only GPU fan part # M82281-001 which is N/A. If you wish, you can use part # and search around such as EMPR.

Regards.
