Hello!
Since two weeks ago, I'm experiencing troubles with my pc.
Some of my games have a huge fps drop every 2-3 minutes, like from 60 to 25. (in particular dragon age: inquisition)
So I started to test both the CPU and the GPU and on the stress test (and while gaming) I got on the GPU going up to 80-85 degree celsius and the CPU even to 90 degree celsius.
OCCT test don't even start (on large data set mode) and it says: ''core 3 over maximum value, value reached 89, max value 85''
I've tried to lift the pc to make the airflow better, to put a fan near and to set the game with the geforce experience tool.
Also all my drivers (at least the intel and the nvidia ones) are updated and recently I have update windows 10 home to the latest version.
It always worked just fine (150 hours of the witcher 3 can prove it) but now it's unplayable.
Can anybody help?
(sorry about my english, it's not my first language)
Pc specs:
Hp Omen Laptop 2016
model: ax000nl
cpu: intel i7 6700hq
gpu: gtx 965m
ram: 16 gb

Greetings @Nash93,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer is overheating and reducing the performance of the computer while gaming, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?
Recommend you update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant.
I do understand that you have already updated them but recommend you do check using HPSA.
Once all the drivers are updated, refer to this HP Article and use the game mode as suggested.
Also, update the graphics driver directly from Nvidia website and check.
Try this interactive guided troubleshooter to improve the performance of your computer.
If the issue persists, run a system test on your computer to make sure all the components are working fine. Click here.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi!
So I have tried everything you said and:
I've update all the drivers with HPSA and nothing changed, still FPS drops and high temperatures.
Then I proceded to the system test (quick one) and sadly I got an dangerously and scary red error.
It showed me this:
Failure ID: 6AL7JF-8G48PP-MFPX6K-403203
Product ID: E7EJ8EA#AB2
How much do I have to worry? 😞

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps.
The failure ID shared by you is related to the memory on your computer.
