Cable plug in , not charging

Hi ,

I start my Hp Omen laptop after i come from 2 weeks holiday and it's shows the cable plug in not charging.  i run the bios test and i find out the battery need replace . Primary - Replace (40)

My problem now is i am not able to find out what battery i should buy, and i would like your help.

Sorry to hear about the battery. That model is a little over 2 years old now and I've seen this happen to those batteries when they are this old, regardless of how you used it. Fortunately it didn't swell up and bow the case, but I would remove it just the same in case it does. It will be OK to run the laptop on the power cord only, if you don't install a new battery.

HP does not sell them unfortunately. You will have to search the web for a third party solution. There are several out there.

This manual reflects the next version of your model, but the info on how to disassemble is the same.
