Hi @Tamajit1

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how important the camera is for your work, and I appreciate the troubleshooting already completed with Microsoft support. Based on the information provided for your Victus by HP 15-fa1000 and the 0xA00F4244 camera error, along with the report that the camera driver is missing, please try the following steps:

Open Device Manager.

  • Expand Cameras and Imaging Devices.
  • If no HP/Integrated Camera appears, click View > Show hidden devices.
  • If the camera appears with a warning symbol, right-click and select Uninstall device, then restart the notebook.

Install the latest HP drivers and firmware.

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page for your Victus model.
  • Install all available:
    • Chipset drivers
    • Intel Serial IO drivers
    • BIOS updates
    • Camera-related drivers if listed
  • Restart after installation.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

  • Press Esc repeatedly during startup, then F2 for Diagnostics.
  • Run the Component Tests and check if a Camera Test is available.
  • Note any failure ID if displayed.

Check the camera privacy settings.

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Ensure Camera access and Let desktop apps access your camera are turned on.

Perform a hardware refresh.

  • Shut down the notebook.
  • Disconnect all external devices.
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Start the notebook and test the camera again.

If the camera is completely absent from Device Manager and HP diagnostics do not detect it, enter the BIOS (F10 at startup), load Setup Defaults, save changes, restart, and recheck Device Manager.

If possible, please share:

  • Whether the camera is visible in Device Manager
  • Any unknown devices listed under Device Manager
  • Results of the HP Hardware Diagnostics camera test (if available)

Those details will help determine whether this is a driver detection issue or if the integrated camera hardware is no longer being detected by the system.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
