Hi @jayteesem,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that your HP TrueVision HD camera is showing a blank image even after updating Windows, reinstalling the camera driver, and running HP diagnostics without finding an issue.
To narrow this down, could you please confirm:
- What is your exact HP laptop model or product number?
- Is the camera blank in every application, including the Windows Camera app, or only in apps such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams?
- Does the camera appear in Device Manager without any warning symbol?
- Is the camera indicator light on when you try to use it?
- Did the camera work previously, and did this issue begin after a Windows update or another change?
In the meantime, please try these additional steps:
Check the privacy shutter:
If your laptop has a physical camera shutter or a camera privacy key, make sure the camera is enabled and the lens is uncovered.
Check Windows camera permissions:
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are turned on.
Test the Windows Camera app:
Close Zoom, Teams, browsers, and any other applications that might be using the camera.
Open the Windows Camera app and check whether the image is still blank.
Check the camera source:
If your laptop has HP Presence or another camera utility, verify that the built-in camera is selected rather than a virtual or external camera.
Run the camera connection test:
Open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, if available, and check whether a camera connection test is listed. Note any failure ID or error message.
You can also refer to HP's official guide: HP PCs – Troubleshoot the webcam.
Please share the results and your laptop model. If the image remains blank across applications despite these checks, we can determine whether further hardware assessment is needed.
Best regards,
