Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Good Day!

I would like to know what happened to my built-in camera, this occurred when it automatically updated the system last 3 months ago.  This laptop has not been repaired and there is no way for anyone to disassemble my laptop since I always in my office.

Kindly assist, this is a recurring issue, and I really need to use my camera ASAP.

Hello Koolitz03,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop is encountering an error indicating that the camera is not found (Error: 0xA00F4244), here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Camera Privacy Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
    • Ensure that the setting to allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
    • Review the list of apps and make sure the apps you want to use with your camera are permitted.
  2. Update Camera Drivers:

    • Open Device Manager from the Start menu.
    • Locate and expand the Cameras section (or Imaging devices).
    • Right-click the camera device and select Update driver.
    • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  3. Check Device Manager for Issues:

    • In Device Manager, check if there is a yellow exclamation mark or if the camera is listed under Unknown Devices. If so, you might need to update or reinstall the driver.
  4. Reinstall the Camera Driver:

    • In Device Manager, right-click the camera device and select Uninstall device.
    • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
  5. Run the Windows Troubleshooter:

    • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    • Find and run the Camera troubleshooter to detect and fix problems.
  6. Update Windows:

    • Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
  7. BIOS Settings:

    • Occasionally, the camera might be disabled from the BIOS. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS settings (usually by pressing the F10 or ESC key during startup). Look for an option related to the camera and ensure it’s enabled.
  8. Security Software:

    • Some antivirus or privacy software might block the camera. Check your security software settings to make sure the camera is not being disabled.
