I am facing an issue with the integrated webcam on my HP Victus 15-fa0xxx laptop.

Problem

  • The Windows Camera app displays the error:
    0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>
  • The camera is not working in any application.

Troubleshooting Performed

  1. Initially, Device Manager showed HP Wide Vision HD Camera with Code 45:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer."

  2. I uninstalled the camera device from Device Manager and restarted the laptop. After restarting:
    • The Cameras category disappeared completely from Device Manager.
    • The camera was not automatically reinstalled.
  3. I selected Action → Scan for hardware changes in Device Manager, but the camera was still not detected.
  4. I entered the BIOS (Version F.28) and checked the available settings:
    • There is no Integrated Camera/Webcam option in the BIOS.
  5. I ran HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:
    • There is no Webcam/Camera test available.

Current Status

  • Windows no longer detects the integrated webcam.
  • The camera is absent from Device Manager.
  • The BIOS does not show any webcam setting.
  • HP Hardware Diagnostics does not provide a webcam test.

Could you please advise whether this is a known hardware issue (webcam module/cable) or if there are any additional firmware or driver recovery steps I should try? If this indicates a hardware failure, please let me know the recommended repair procedure.
