Hi @asd1237,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are to determine whether the USB-C port on your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk2093ne is connected to the iGPU or the dGPU when used as a DisplayPort, you can use the following methods:

1. Check the Laptop’s Specifications

  • According to the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk2093ne specs:
    • The USB-C port supports DisplayPort 1.4, which usually connects to the dGPU in gaming laptops to enable higher performance in external displays.
    • HP’s design typically routes USB-C video output through the dGPU in gaming models, but this isn't guaranteed without verification.

2. Use GPU Monitoring Software

  • You can test which GPU is in use when connecting an external display:
    • Connect an external monitor using the USB-C DisplayPort.
    • Use Task Manager (press Ctrl+Shift+Esc) or GPU-Z to see which GPU is handling the display output:
      • Open Task Manager > Performance tab > GPU sections.
      • Look for activity spikes on the iGPU (Intel UHD) or dGPU (NVIDIA GeForce GTX/RTX) when dragging windows or playing a video on the external monitor.

3. NVIDIA Control Panel

  • If the USB-C port is connected to the dGPU:
    • Open the NVIDIA Control Panel > "Set up multiple displays."
    • If the external monitor appears here, the USB-C port is routed through the dGPU.

4. Check Device Manager

  • Go to Device Manager (Win+X > Device Manager) and look under Display Adapters.
  • If the external monitor appears under the dGPU, the USB-C port is connected to it.

5. BIOS or HP Documentation

  • Sometimes, HP specifies the GPU configuration in the BIOS or user manual.
  • Reboot your laptop, enter the BIOS (F10 during startup), and look for settings related to USB-C DisplayPort.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
