Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi All,

Firstly, I am a noob when it comes to computers and laptops.

My Laptop is a;

HP Omen 15-AX236TX 15.6" Gaming Laptop.

Key Features

7th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 7700HQ (2.8 GHz, up to 3.8 GHz, 6 MB L3 cache)

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5 dedicated Graphics

128GB SSD M.2 SATA + 1TB 7200RPM Hard Disk Drive

15.6-inch diagonal FHD Anti-Glare WLED-backlit Display (1920x1080)

8GB DDR4L-2400 SDRAM (1 DIMM)

802.11 ac WLAN and Bluetooth® 4.2

1 x HDMI Input

1 x USB 2.0 Ports

2 x USB 3.0 Ports

Webcam

Multi-format Card Reader

Windows 10 Home

I am wanting to use a monitor with my gaming laptop. I play mainly Dota 2, BF 1, and some other steam games.

I bought a;

LG 27" MP58 Full HD IPS Monitor

Barcode (GTIN) 8806087670202 Categories LED Monitors Brand LG Model 27MP58VQ Colour Black Response Time (ms) 5 Screen Type IPS Screen Size (inches) 27 Screen Definition Full High Definition Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Screen Aspect Ratio 16:9 Connectivity HDMI, VGA Connectivity VGA, DVI, HDMI Manufacturers Express Warranty (months) 36

I found this monitor to lag when a large battle took place. It seemed like it couldnt keep up with what i was wanting to do. ( I returned this and got my money back.

From the small amount i do know i was thinking i might need a monitor with 1ms (response time) and 144hz

I am thinking of the;

Where do you get that information ? It specs shows it has 1 HDMI port, whhic is HDMI out, not in:

     https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05370398

And it supports standard FHD (1920 x 1080)  monitors using HDMI connection (from 60Hz up)

Hi,

The machine itself has 1920 x 1080 resolution. Its HDMI port supports 1920 x 1080 resolution monitors from 60Hz and above.

Probably you are talking about the frame rates of your games. That is a different story. The monitor refreshing rates and frame rates are NOT the same.

Regards.
