OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xd0000 (758R2AV)

I purchased my HP laptop in November 2024 and noticed the following issues:

1. The charger brick makes a buzzing sound when plugged in and charging.

2. I noticed scratches inside the circular charger pin 2–3 months after purchase, but recently, while adjusting the pin, I heard a tick-tick sound like a spark.

Charging appears normal, but I’m concerned about possible internal damage or long-term impact.

@Utsav11, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the Charger Brick

If it’s buzzing, unplug it and check for any damage or burning smells.

If the buzzing is loud, consider getting a replacement charger from HP.

Look at the Charger Pin

Inspect the tip for scratches. Clean it with a microfiber cloth.

If you hear a “tick-tick” or spark sound, stop using it. The pin might be damaged.

Avoid adjusting the pin too much.

Check the Charging Port

Look inside the laptop’s charging port for any dirt or damage.

Clean it with compressed air if needed.

If it's damaged, the port may need repair.

Test With a Different Charger

Try another compatible charger to see if the issue continues.

If the new charger works fine, your original charger may be the problem.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
