I own a HP Victus, and despite it being a gaming laptop my charger overheats within 10-15 minutes of gaming, I've had this laptop for about a year now, is this an issue that can be fixed or do i have to look at a replacement charger?

Make sure the battery is fully charged before starting a game.
Go the below site and enter your serial number. You should get both General information such as a parts list and features.

see if there are optional higher power chargers.
what is your model number or product ID?
