I ran the AC Adapter test and received a fail.

Failure ID: 6E3XSJ-8SN9P2-MFPURF-C1EF03

Product ID : 1KV79UA#ABA

My main problem is that i plug in the charger and the orange charging light only last a split second and says plugged in not charging then stays with a white light and doesnt charge.Ive only had it for a year and a half. Want to know if the battery if bad or the charger is to replace either. Pls Help amd Thank You.

Hello @Pharaoh7

That error code means it could be anything in the general power loop that might possibly be affected. Including the battery, charger, power cord or motherboard. The only way to know for sure is to have a tech look at it that is able to troubleshoot those types of problems.

I cant speak for HP about how they would handle a warranty issue that has expired. I can try asking, but I just don't want you to get your hopes up if they say they cant.

@Pharaoh7,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

As you have run the test and after decoding the failure ID it looks like a possible AC Adapter failure.

I would recommend you could try an different compatible charger and check if that helps.

If it works then you can purchase a new AC Adapter.

According the to the product specifications that your PC has been shipped with 150 W AC power adapter

In order to check the compatibility, I would recommend you go through the Maintenance and service guide. Here you will find the list of parts which are tested and compatible on your notebook.

You could use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
