HP OMEN 15 (15-en0037ax)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i recently bought a HP OMEN 15 laptop. Its mostly used for game dev and gaming. Its working fine except when I run games which use 90-100% GPU. In that case, there is some crackling sound from GPU. It can be heard clearly from the right side.

I've tried these and the problem didn't occur.

1. CPU at max load.

2. RAM at max load.

3. Fans at max speed.

4. Speakers at max volume.

It's only happening at max GPU usage. No performance drop or any other symptoms but it is making me scared as to what's the problem. This is a very costly laptop and I've taken 3 years extended warranty with it while buying from HP store online. If there is something wrong with GPU or any other component I could get it serviced. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you hear noise from the GPU at max load.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp110001-110500/sp110332.exe

AMD: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105501-106000/sp105894.exe

Nvidia: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp107001-107500/sp107225.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

First of all thank you very much for replying. I was getting very worried about the issue.

So I updated BIOS. But while updating NVIDIA driver it says 'The system cannot find the path specified.' in a command prompt.

Also if this is updating the system Nvidia driver then I've already updated it to the following versions.

Nvidia Framework SDK 1.1.4923.29548709

Nvidia GeForce Experience 3.21.0.36

Nvidia Graphics Driver 461.40

Regarding the AMD software, it says 'Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 19.40.54.01 has been installed.

I'm still encountering the clicking sound when playing games at max load or near max load.

Especially when GPU usage is 90% plus. Please note it's not VRAM but GPU usage that is GPU's processor. VRAM is mostly not used that much.

Thank you so much for replying and waiting for your next response.

I've also added the sound in the question. The background noise is just the fan and the clicking sound is GPU at 100%.

Here the link again https://soundcloud.com/just-for-test-527390917/clicking-sound, please reply , I'm getting a lot worried about it. FIrst expensive gaming laptop.
