I have a bad colour banding on my victus laptop with rtx 4060, And it's also reflected on the external monitor I use. The image is 1080p and the laptop's panel is IPS. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Hi @Giacomo2000,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand Color banding can be an issue when using either integrated or discrete graphics on your HP device, affecting both the laptop screen and external monitors. Here are a few steps that you can try to resolve the color banding problem on your Victus by HP laptop with an RTX 4060 graphics card:

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Ensure that your NVIDIA RTX 4060 graphics drivers and any integrated graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this through https://support.hp.com/us-en or by downloading drivers directly from the NVIDIA website.

Adjust Display Settings:

  • Check your display settings and color profiles. Ensure that you are using the correct settings for your IPS panel and that the display resolution is set to its native resolution (1080p in your case).

Calibrate Your Display:

  • Use display calibration tools to adjust color settings and tones. Most operating systems have built-in calibration tools, or you can use third-party software for more advanced adjustments.

Check HDMI/DisplayPort Cable:

  • If the issue is reflected on an external monitor, ensure that the cable connecting your laptop to the monitor is properly connected and not damaged. Try a different cable if necessary.

Test with Different Media Players/Applications:

  • Sometimes, banding can be related to the media player or application you are using to view images or videos. Try using different applications to see if the problem persists.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Ensure that no software or settings are interfering with display settings. You might need to reset display-related settings or try rebooting the laptop in Safe Mode to identify any conflicting applications.

Color Calibration Using NVIDIA Control Panel:

  • Open NVIDIA Control Panel and go to "Display" -> "Adjust Desktop Color Settings." From there, you can adjust color settings, gamma, contrast, and digital vibrance to improve color consistency.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
