I don't know where you guys are sitting. I am from Austria, but in Germin you find rather anything about this Omen 16 touchpad issue.
In May I bought one of the Omen 16 (mine is c0915ng) and had the same problem with the touchpad. The left side was not responding, the other side didn't do what it should have done. I tried several things (BIOS update, drivers etc), nothing helped. I called the support (in Germany) and they told me that I was the first one and they wouldn't know anything about it. So i sent it off to HP. They sent it to Hungary/Vecses, reset Win 11, did a BIOS Update to F16 and sent it back (in fact with a really dirty display). As this did not help, i went to my distributor, they exchanged the device and I was very happy, because I did not have problems anymore. For 2 months. Then it started all over again.
And the only conclusion of this topic is that HP definitely does not have any solution.
It just can't be so hard for a company like HP to provide a fix for this long term issue!

i bought an omen 16 (i wanted 17 but they stopped doing full numberpads on them) and have had the issue since day 1. i was hoping it was a windows 11 issue as it seems to have so many quirks.
has anyone tried installing windows 10 and does it fix it?
i can take mine in for repairs, but given everyone so far hasnt had much luck with that, i dont feel optimistic... but it really does make the laptop fairly unusable in "lap" mode which is how i usually use it.

I know another user where this fix really helped.

im not going to open my new laptop and randomly shove some wire in it because 3 people on reddit said it worked for them.
currently considering just living with F11 on off as i dont want to use a mouse, i dont want to spend weeks and months chasing repairs that dont seem to be working for anyone else not to mention being without my laptop for weeks on end, just for the same issue at the end of the day
it bothers me to find dozens of posts on this topic over a year. My last omen lasted 6 years and i probably could keep using it but i saw a great deal on the new omens and as an authorised repairer they could also upgrade RAM and HDD for me (australia had minimal omen model choices). This is a bloody expensive laptop for something so fundamental as the touchpad to just not work for SOOOO many people.

oh yeah, also am I. but it definitely is a hardware issue and I would give it a try. because you are right - it was expensive, but all in one it is a really great device that I cant finde anywhere else unter 2000 euro. so I am keeping it.
