Hello,
I have a 2 week old HP Omen 17-w202na that crashes continually when under any reasonable 'load'. So, I have tried several games, even old ones, and I either get a blue screen of death (with the qr code, I have yet to photograph) or the following:
TsLGame.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x00007FFE821850B7 AT 0x0000000000000030. The memory could not be read.
This is the error I got from running Payer Unknown Battlegrounds.
I have since updated the Nvidia drivers as well as the BIOS to F.38 but this doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. I have also done system checks via F2 - on startup - and everything gets checked out ok.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
El

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are getting a BSOD when you try to play Battlegrounds game.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Recommend you follow the procedure mentioned below to resolve the issue you are facing. Click here for Battleground post.
- CLOSE STEAM BOOSTRAPER PROCESS FROM FROM THE TASK MANAGER
- OPEN STEAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR.
- RUN PUBG FROM THE LIBRARY OF STEAM
- PLAY!
Let me know if this helped.

Hi Chimney, thanks for getting back to me. I ran a diagnostic yesterday but it didn't come up with anything. I haven't tried your advice yet but I just got the blue screen of death Stop code: IRQL_NOT_OR_EQUAL
I'm entirely unsure what that means but it is getting on my nerves.
Cheers,
El

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps.
Recommend you run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated on your computer.
Found this Microsoft post with some suggestions, let me know if they helped.
Keep me posted.

Hello again Chimney, still no luck. Installed and ran HP Assistant (which seemed to update stuff and tried the Microsoft fixes as well. Tried running the game again and it crashed.

Hi,
as @Chimney_83 is out of the office today, I'm replying to you. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.
Let's get the hardware tested in the laptop. The below steps should help:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
Figure : HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu
- Select component tests.
Figure : Component Tests options
- Please run a test one by one on the hard drive, memory, processor and the system board.
If all the tests pass then I suggest you to perform a Windows refresh (repair). The following list shows what happens when you refresh your computer:
-
Your files and personalization settings such as libraries, user accounts, and desktop themes are saved.
-
The computer settings are returned to the defaults.
-
Apps from the Windows store are reinstalled, and the settings are reset to their defaults. Internet connectivity is not required to reinstall these apps.
-
Desktop apps are removed unless they were installed by the computer manufacturer. At the end of the refresh process, an HTML file called Removed Apps.html is placed on the desktop with a list of the desktop apps that were removed.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know the outcome. Good luck! 🙂

Hi thanks for your reply, I ran a diagnostic and it resulted in nothing. I have done a total refresh and I am now getting all kinds of blue screen crashes when I run any programme I try. I am massively disappointed in this machine.
