Hello,

My cpu (intel core i7 13700HX) has a EDP Limit throttling at random time that create some lags and slowdowns.

For example, I have to wait a few seconds durign each Alt+TAB, also use the keyboard take few time to perform the action (i.e. write).

"Random time" means :

- At windows desktop

- NOT during game

- during steam's game installation

- Web browsing

I have a second problem which I think is related to the first, when installing a steam game, all my E-core was at 100%, and my P-core was not used. And in this situation, the pc was very slow as described above.

Hello, @Thomas1310floridablue

You’re experiencing EDP Limit throttling, which can indeed cause the issues you’re describing. Here are a few steps you can take to address this:

Check Power Settings: Ensure your power plan is set to “High Performance” in Windows. This can help reduce throttling.
Update BIOS and Drivers: Make sure your BIOS and all relevant drivers are up to date. Manufacturers often release updates that can improve performance and fix throttling issues.
Adjust Power Limits: Use tools like ThrottleStop or Intel XTU to adjust the power limits (PL1 and PL2) and disable EDP throttling. Be cautious with these settings to avoid overheating.
Cooling Solutions: Ensure your cooling system is working efficiently. Overheating can trigger throttling to protect the CPU.
Check Background Processes: High CPU usage by background processes can also cause slowdowns. Use Task Manager to identify and manage these processes.

I hope this info is helpful to you.

Best Regard,
Gregory Chavez
