1. Did you notice "System" process using a lot of CPU? (it should be around 1% on idle)
2. Did you notice any of your CPU cores to be used in 100%?
3. Put your laptop to sleep and resume, check the latency - are the values roughly the same?

I guess it's not normal then
1. I did. Before clean install I had a lot of problems with "system" and "system interrupts" processes.
Their usage of CPU was about 30% and clocks were working in turbo at 3,4ghz. Only restart or sleep could help. Now I don't experience this, but I use my device occasionally on vacation.
Most of the time it's 1-2%, but not always
2. No, I don't think so
3. I think that it's the same
I sent my device few days ago on service with two problems: overheating and DPC latency spikes, but they only fixed overheating. Fan kit exchange and conservation helped.
Now my guarantee is over.
