Hp 250 g5

So I cannot power up my laptop, I have replaced the power Jack and the charging cable and performed all troubleshooting processes such as removing battery and draining power, I have also removed and put back my cmos battery in order to reset my bios but it did not work.

the laptop stopped charging because the power Jack was damaged I then used the laptop until the battery fully drained as I did not know it was not charging, but I replaced the charging Jack and it still did not charge nor does it show the charging led when plugged in , the motherboard does not look damaged in any way and all components are connected properly

so I do not understand why it will not charge or switch on please help

Possibly the charging controller chip was damaged indirectly when the jack was damaged.

I am just guessing that if the jack shorted even momentarily, the short caused a device on the motherboard to go bad.

I assume you got the correct part which is marked by the red arrow over the cable to the jack

HP-250-255-256-G5-notebook-PC-17

Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/

verify the part number for the jack matches what you used.

If you borrow another battery or  charge up yours using another system or a DIY charging station, does the laptop work?

if the laptop works with a charged batter but cannot charge the battery there is likely a way to rig a power supply to run the laptop but it would not be portable.
