Okay, Thanks

I have an HP laptop, when connected to the internet, DeviceFreeze-4891 appears on the screen. Does anyone know how to fix this?

@IngSol, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Disconnect from the Internet Immediately

If the pop-up appears only when online, disconnect your laptop from Wi-Fi or unplug the Ethernet cable.

This stops the message from loading while you clean up your system.

Run a Full Malware Scan

Open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Full scan.

Specifically cleans adware/hijackers that cause pop-up scams.

Remove Suspicious Startup Programs

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Go to the Startup tab and disable anything suspicious or unknown.

Also:

Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl to open Programs and Features.

Uninstall anything you don’t recognize or recently installed before the problem started.

Clear Temporary Files

Press Windows + R, type cleanmgr, and hit Enter.

Select your system drive (usually C:), then check all boxes and run cleanup.

Reset Network Settings

This removes any proxy changes or malware-persisted DNS settings:

Open Command Prompt as administrator.

Run these commands one by one:

  • netsh winsock reset
  • netsh int ip reset
  • ipconfig /flushdns

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
