Hi again, thought I'd provide an update.

 

The flicker continued from time to time, so once I went and checked the drivers and there was some kind of an error. Shortly after that, Windows Update again got the latest drivers. So, I found the troubleshooter that blocks certain driver updates and implemented that. Then, I removed the new drivers and again installed the ones provided by HP. Don't remember when exactly that was, but it's been quite a few days since I saw any flicker. Hopefully that's the solution and the end of this episode.
