Hi @GharebAt,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Display flickering or glitching on a newly purchased HP Omen 16 can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Update Drivers: You mentioned you have the latest graphics drivers installed, but ensure that all drivers, including graphics, chipset, and display drivers, are up to date. Sometimes, manually downloading and installing drivers from the HP website can be more effective than relying on automatic updates.
  • Check Video Cables: Ensure that the cables connecting your computer to the monitor are securely plugged in at both ends and aren't damaged. Sometimes, a loose or damaged cable can cause display issues.
  • Test with Different Content: Try playing different types of videos or content to see if the issue persists across all media or if it's specific to certain videos. This can help determine if the problem lies with the content itself or with the hardware/software configuration.
  • Check Refresh Rate and Resolution: Make sure that the refresh rate and resolution settings are configured correctly for your monitor. Setting a refresh rate that is too high or a resolution that is not supported by your monitor can cause flickering or glitching.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your monitor or other display-related hardware. Updating firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.
  • Disable Hardware Acceleration: In some cases, hardware acceleration in your web browser or media player can cause display issues. Try disabling hardware acceleration in your settings and see if that helps.
  • Test in Safe Mode: Boot your computer into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away in Safe Mode, it could indicate that a third-party software or driver is causing the problem.
  • Check for Overheating: Monitor the temperature of your graphics card and CPU to ensure they are not overheating. Overheating can cause performance issues and may lead to display problems.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the display flickering or glitching issue with your HP Omen 16.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden4,

It's HP omen 16 lptop not a desktop so there are no cables, I have installed the latest drivers from the hp website even I installed the ones on intel but it still this glitching happen. It only happens on videos online and it happens as it's refreshing or some old pixels of old frames are merged with current frames. This issue was ocuuring every half an hour of online videos in the 2 months but then I kept removing the drivers and installing them again and it decreases to every hour or 2.

I tried so many solutions I know and from the internet but still not working. This problem I have it since I bought a 3 months ago. Please, if you can help me regarding this issue.

Hello, The problem reduced but it still happens but much less frequent. I have a slight wobble on the bottom of my laptop monitor next to the hinge (when I press on one hinge it wobble but the other hinge is fine).

Also, regarding battery life. When I leave the laptop turned off fully charged and unpluged to power, after one day and I turn on the laptop the  battery becomes 91%, which I believe it's too much draining in on day.

I'm thinking since my laptop is still in Warrantey (I bought it 4 months ago and had this issues from day 1), can I replace it.
