I hope someone can help me, let me share my story. This is my third time becoming black screen with my omen 16 gaming laptop. At second time I sent back to factory to fix it. After fixing it and return it to me, I try to play the game and realize the resolution is blur, i can see far away, so annoying, even i set the highest graphic setting, still blurring. Later found out, the display setting in NVIDIA is losing, so i try to update the amd raedon display driver, after install it the screen become black, so i have faced with this problem before, i try to connect with second screen, it work on that, and then i check the nvidia, display setting is shown up, then rollback the driver my screen back to life again, the things is whyyyyy? I can not play game with gaming laptop.

Hi @SaiZaw,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear about the ongoing issues with your OMEN by HP 16.1-inch gaming laptop. Here are some steps and suggestions to help resolve the problem.
Display Driver Conflicts
Since you mentioned both NVIDIA and AMD Radeon, it sounds like there might be a conflict between the two drivers. Here’s how to address that:
- Uninstall Current Drivers:
- Safe Mode: Boot your laptop into Safe Mode. To do this, restart your computer and press F8 (or Shift + F8 in some cases) during boot to access the Advanced Boot Options and select Safe Mode.
- Device Manager: Open Device Manager (right-click Start button > Device Manager). Uninstall both NVIDIA and AMD Radeon display drivers. Make sure to check the option to delete the driver software for these devices.
- Clean Install Drivers:
- Download the latest drivers for both your NVIDIA and AMD Radeon GPUs from their respective websites.
- NVIDIA Drivers
- AMD Drivers
- Install the NVIDIA driver first, followed by the AMD driver. Ensure you select the “clean install” option if available.
- Download the latest drivers for both your NVIDIA and AMD Radeon GPUs from their respective websites.
Windows Update and BIOS
Ensure that your system is fully updated:
Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
BIOS Update:
- Check the HP website for any BIOS updates for your OMEN laptop. Follow the instructions carefully to update the BIOS.
Gaming Settings
Adjust your in-game settings and NVIDIA control panel settings:
In-Game Settings:
- Lower some of the graphics settings to see if performance improves without the blurriness.
NVIDIA Control Panel:
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel (right-click on your desktop and select it).
- Go to "Manage 3D settings" and ensure that your high-performance NVIDIA processor is selected for your games.
System Diagnostics
Run system diagnostics to check for any hardware issues:
HP Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 to access the HP System Diagnostics tool. Run a full system test.
Factory Reset
As a last resort, consider performing a factory reset. This will revert your laptop to its original state:
Backup Data:
- Ensure all important data is backed up to an external drive or cloud storage.
Reset:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC. Choose the option to remove everything and reinstall Windows.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the black screen and blurry resolution issues on your OMEN gaming laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
