Hello all,

I have Hp Omen 15-en1017na 2021 model with  AMD Ryzen 5 5600H with Radeon Graphics, rtx-3060 with a 16 gb ram and 512 Gb SAMSUNG MZVLB512HBJQ-000H1 512GB M.2 2280 PM981a PCIe Gen3x4 TLC SS installed in the laptop.

I heard that this model has 2x M.2 slots. I'm not sure if this is true! How can I check it without opening the laptop? If yes, can I add a 1 TB SSD to the other slot? Which brand is better compatible with my laptop that has no firmware issues?

here is the link to look at the maintaince and service pdf, it not clear if it has 2 M.2 slots

kind regards,

You're very welcome.

That shouldn't be a problem.

The drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series.

The Crucial SSD report for the model series indicates that they sell NVMe SSDs up to 4 TB.

Note that your notebook's M.2 slots are only PCIe Gen 3.0, so if you buy a Gen 4.0 SSD it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.

This table shows the maximum transfer speeds each PCIe slot generation can provide:

Hi:

Yes, according to the manual, the notebook has support for two M.2 NVMe SSD's.

Chapter 1, page 2:

Multiple storage Configuration:  (HP offers 2 x 256 GB NVMe SSDs').  You can go higher than that if you want.
256 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC + 256 GB, PCIe, NVMe, TLC

If you look at this video for the previous 15-en0xxx model series, at 6:02 into the video you can see the two NVMe slot positions after the person removes the bottom cover.

Thank you for the reply, I already had a 512 SSD installed when bought, so can I install 1TB SSD on the other slot?
