Hi I'm gonna get a good new screen, preferably with usb c input. I would like to know what is supported by my model. The specs says I have 2 USB 3.1 gen 1. Do they support running in Display Port mode? do I need some sort of converter/docking station? lastly what are my limits in terms of resolution@refersh rate?

here are the specs:

Hello @guy99

That model series did not come with USB-C, DisplayPort or Thunderbolt.

It will only support HDMI 2.0 and is limited to that ability.

Here is the manual also showing what your link to specs also showed...

Thanks for the help, I know it doesn't have any of these but usb 3.1 bus can be used to hook up to a monitor's video input, at least with some monitors nowadays...

Anyway good to know the HDMI version is 2 at least.

No,  Those are standard USB ports and do not carry video signals. You would have to use the HDMI port only.

You are maybe gettting USB confused with USB-C that also has displayport supported. But the USB-C port has to be wired to also carry the Displyport signal. Not all of them are.

Hope that helps.
