Spoiler
Does the HP OMEN 16-inch Gaming Laptop 16-xf0066AX have an extra SSD slot for expansion?

Hi everyone,

I'm the owner of an HP OMEN 16-inch Gaming Laptop 16-xf0066AX and I'm looking to upgrade the storage space. I've been considering adding an additional SSD, but I'm unsure if this model has an extra slot available for it. My laptop is configured with 512 GB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD Hard drive.

I've also searched online for information, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. I would really appreciate it if anyone could clarify this for me.  pdf_7911950_en-US-1.pdf (hp.com)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Hi:

Below is the link to the user guides page for your notebook.

OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xf0000 - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

According to chapter 5 of the maintenance and service guide, the notebook has support for two NVMe SSD's if it is a 'Full-feature' model.

Exactly what that means, I can only guess, and that might be the models that have the AMD Ryzen Pro HS processors are the full-featured models and have support for two NVMe SSD's, and the models that have the AMD Ryzen Pro H processors only have support for one M.2 SSD.

Before you run out and buy a second NVMe SSD, I recommend you do some exploratory surgery to confirm what is what.
