None of the documentation Ive found mentions nothing about G-sync built in to the monitors of that series.
The graphics card will support G-synch to an external monitor, but not the built in.
Im sorry.

I dunno if it applies to your case but in mine? none of the HP documentation or WEB INFO said anything about my OMEN 17 (FHD 1080p 120hz Display) had support for G-SYNC... It ended up having it anyway: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/Does-the-screen-on-my-recently-ordered-laptop-Support...
So I would take the lack of information on this regard with a grain of salt, As much info I gathered it seems the Display does not even dictate if its G-SYNC or not as laptops do not need the special add-on for G-SYNC like aftermarket monitors for Desktops do.. They seem to rely on Drivers and GPU compatibility... Seems only 1060s and above enable G-SYNC.

Thanks @Skirmich
I had forgotten about that conversation since no one asked about again until now, apologies. And Im not surprised if HP left it out of their documentation. Its not the first time its been misleading. Very embarrasing too if you ask me.
I went back an reviewed my requests for adding such info, it went no where as you can see.

Yeah according to BHPhoto webpage the display is indeed G-SYNC on that SKU: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1416324-REG/hp_3we38ua_aba_om17_an120nr_i7_8750h_2_2ghz_16gb....
Quote:
"The 17.3" Full HD IPS anti-glare display has a 1920 x 1080 native resolution, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, NVIDIA G-Sync technology, WLED-backlighting, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and viewing angles of 178°."
so Id say its a go...

Nope, G-SYNC has worked fine since day 1.. Since the Laptop is using the 1060 there arent a lot of games that can achieve the FPS to max out the 120hz panel so G-SYNC works marvels, depending on the game I usually use the in-game FPS limiter (If it has one) or RTSS to limit max FPS to 80fps which is a sweet spot in the 1060 capabilities when playing on Highest-Ultra settings..
Everything is smooth as butter with G-SYNC, Never going back to a Laptop without it.
On the same subject the 144hz display is merely a gimmick since the 1060 wont play anything other than small games on those FPS... 1080 is what that 144hz needs, even the 1070 is merely capable...
