HP Omen 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to connect my HP Omen to dual monitors for when I am using it for work. (not during gaming sessions).

What is the best port replictor, docking station, or whatever that I can use that will let me utilize 2 HP montiors that have either DP or HDMI and can utilize both of those connections at the same time?

You have a Thunderbolt port with alt-dp which is the gold standard:

I have had very good luck with a docking station model called an ioGear GUD3CO2:

This has a mini-DP port and an HDMI and passes through up to 65w of power so you need an extra USB-C adapter for the dock. I use it at home with my current non-HP laptop but have also used it with an HP Spectre 13-v model and my wife's new model MacBook Pro with just USB-C ports. I have an ultrawide 2560 x 1080 and a FHD 1920 x 1080 screen connected to it and works great and also has ethernet, 3 x USB 3.0, card reader slot and audio out.

There are just so many of these available you can certainly find something you like and having a Thunderbolt port on the laptop widens your choices a lot.

We need the full model number. The answer will vary depending on the "best" output port available on the laptop. USB 3.0 or USB-C or Thunderbolt/Alt-DP?

Thanks.  The monitors I currently have at the office are DP or HDMI, so i would need to get at least 1 DP to thunderbolt cable, and the other could be connected straight away with the HDMI, but as long as both work that isnt an issue.

Thanks for also pointing out the need for the additional usb c adaptor.  I wish all newer computers just went and moved over to the new usb c standard, but oh well.

Actually the dock would use a mini-DP to full sized DP cable to run from the dock to the DP screen and then a standard HDMI from the dock to the HDMI screen. The point is you have all the peripherals and a charger permanently attached to the dock and then plug one connection into the laptop and it charges and activates all those peripherals, right?

Yes that is the intent, I just didnt realize they had the mini-dp to full dp cables.  I have always had HDMI and the DP is seemingly more mainstream on HPs, but this is the first HP I have had in 8 years.  I have always had dell and lenova computers at work.

Right now I have an elitebook with the slim dock which sits right on top, you click it into place and my dual DP monitors plug into that, and then the mouse/keyboard dongle and the like also plug in.  that is plugged into pwer and as soon as the computer is docked it is all powered together.

This  hub has a power adapter, but I thought it was only 65W. since my computer comes with a 150 or 200W supply I cant imagine it is powerful enough to charge the computer, right?   my old setup was a lenova docking station whcih i connected to my computer with a usb 3.0 and i still had to plug seperate power into my machine.  I have no issue if that is the case, i just need to know that so I can make sure I order an extra power supply if thats how it will be again.

Thanks,

Yes that dock can only pass through 60w of charging power which I see is much less than your laptop uses. So your laptop came with a standard barrel adapter? So it may or may not accept USB-C charging and you would need to get a second standard charger and would have to connect two things when you want to dock the laptop.
