Enabling Secure Boot

Hello! I am trying to enable Secure Boot on my OMEN PC running Windows 11. Using Windows+R and msinfo32 to access the System Information tool, I can see that Secure Boot State is "Off". I restart the computer using advanced restart options, click "Troubleshoot", click "Advanced options", and then click "UEFI Firmware Settings". I've confirmed already that my system is set to UEFI and not Legacy. From the OMEN BIOS Startup Menu I click "BIOS Setup". Under the Boot Options menu it appears that I have enabled Secure Boot by choosing "Load HP Factory Default Keys" which allowed me to change the slider for Secure Boot from the off position to the on position. I "Save Changes and Exit" the OMEN Setup Utility and my computer restarts, but still Secure Boot State is "Off" in the System Information window once I restart. Any ideas? Thank you!

Thank you for providing the detailed information. Since you have already confirmed that the system is using UEFI mode and have loaded the HP factory Secure Boot keys, let's first reset the BIOS configuration to its default settings. Then we can verify the BIOS version and update it if needed before enabling Secure Boot again.

1. Load BIOS defaults

1. Restart the OMEN 30L. 
2. When the OMEN logo appears, repeatedly press F10 to enter BIOS Setup. 
3. Select Load Setup Defaults or Restore Defaults. 
4. Confirm the change and Save Changes and Exit. 
5. Allow Windows to start normally. 

2. Check the BIOS version
After Windows starts:

1. Press Windows + R. 
2. Type msinfo32 and press Enter. 
3. Look for BIOS Version/Date. 
4. Please share the exact BIOS version currently installed. 

If the BIOS is not the latest version available for your OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1xxx, update it using the appropriate BIOS update from HP Support.

3. Enable Secure Boot again
After confirming/updating the BIOS:

1. Restart the PC and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.  
2. Go to Boot Options. 
3. If required, select Load HP Factory Default Keys. 
4. Set Secure Boot to Enabled/On. 
5. Select Save Changes and Exit. 
6. Allow Windows to boot. 
7. Open System Information (msinfo32) again and check Secure Boot State. 

Please first let us know the BIOS Version/Date shown on your OMEN 30L. That will allow us to confirm whether a BIOS update is needed before you try enabling Secure Boot again.

Thanks for the reply. After loading BIOS defaults and restarting, I saw that the BIOS version currently installed was "AMI F.24, 10/8/2025". On the HP Support website, I saw several BIOS versions available for download depending on which model I chose from the dropdown list, but none of the models' last four numbers (1***) perfectly matched mine. After searching for BIOS updates for similar models, I did find a BIOS version for one model which was dated 10/19/2025, and I installed that BIOS version. On restarting and checking the BIOS version again, it still says "AMI F.24, 10/8/2025". I restarted and entered BIOS setup and by selecting "Load HP Factory Default Keys" I am able to toggle the "Secure Boot" option to On. I selected Save Changes and Exit, and on restarting again, I still see that Secure Boot State is "Off". Any suggestions?
