Hello i have been trying to enable tpm 2.0 in my bios settings, but it says its already availaible , but it says on my computer incompatibility pop-up, i wonder if there is any other way to enable this tpm to 2.0, because my computer needs it, for a video game, i really tried to reasearch and look for videos, but they show the method i already have tried, and its weird because its already enabled in the BIOS settings, but still wont work and still doesnt detect it, i hope anyone can help me with this.
I have done below troubleshooting or fixes:-
Clear TPM & TPM state Enable/Disable
It used to work & it has always been tpm 2.0 but in recent it is not showing, even on device manager.

Upgrading the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) from version 1.2 to 2.0 is essential for compatibility with certain security features in Windows 11, as well as other modern security measures. Follow the steps below to accomplish this upgrade on HP laptops:
Verify System Compatibility:
- Ensure your HP laptop model supports TPM 2.0. Check your system specifications.
Backup Data:
- Before proceeding, back up your important data. While upgrading TPM should not cause data loss, having a backup is a best practice.
Prepare Your System:
- If BitLocker or other encryption software is in use, suspend BitLocker.
- Ensure administrative privileges are active on the system during the upgrade process.
Access BIOS/UEFI:
- Restart your laptop and access the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is usually done by pressing a key such as F10 or Esc during system startup (refer to your laptop’s manual for the exact key).
Locate TPM Settings:
- In the BIOS/UEFI, find the TPM settings. This is often located under the Security tab.
Update TPM Firmware:
- Set the TPM to upgradeable mode if required by enabling any necessary settings.
- Obtain the appropriate SoftPaq from HP’s website or support resources. The SoftPaq will include the necessary utilities and firmware update package for upgrading the TPM.
- Follow the instructions provided in the update tool to upgrade the TPM version from 1.2 to 2.0.
Enable TPM 2.0:
- After upgrading, ensure the TPM 2.0 is enabled and not hidden in the BIOS settings.
- Restart your system to apply changes.
Re-enable Security Features:

Thank you for the response.
I believe my issue is different from a TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0 upgrade scenario.
My laptop is an HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2xxx with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and BIOS version F.24 (22-Feb-2023).
BIOS Mode: UEFI
Secure Boot State: On
BIOS shows:
TPM Device = Available
TPM State = Enabled
Device Manager shows AMD PSP 10.0 Device
Windows Security reports: "Standard hardware security not supported"
tpm.msc reports: "Compatible TPM cannot be found"
PowerShell Get-Tpm output shows:
TpmPresent = False
TpmReady = False
TpmEnabled = False
Because the BIOS reports that a TPM device is available and enabled, but Windows cannot detect any TPM at all, I suspect this may be a firmware, BIOS configuration, or AMD fTPM exposure issue rather than a TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0 upgrade requirement.
Can you confirm whether the HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2xxx (Ryzen platform) uses AMD firmware TPM (fTPM) rather than a discrete TPM chip, and whether BIOS F.24 is expected to expose TPM 2.0 to Windows 11?
I have attached screenshots of the BIOS TPM settings, Get-Tpm output, and Windows TPM detection results.

Update: The issue has been resolved.
In my case, TPM was not being detected properly. After updating the BIOS to the latest version and rebooting the system, TPM was recognized correctly and is now working as expected.
If you're facing a similar TPM detection issue, checking for a BIOS update from your laptop manufacturer may be worth trying.
